- Design, develop, and implement fully integrated mechanical assembly systems to meet process requirements while complying with applicable design and implementation codes.
- Analyze system designs for hazard analysis development and mitigation.
- Understand Class 1 parts to minimize their use and optimize redundancy, reducing single points of failure.
- Develop documents of system configuration and design, including theory/description of operation, detailed mechanical design descriptions, system implementation/acceptance test plans, and maintenance/job plans.
- Create drawings of mechanical designs, assemblies, and installation procedures using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
- Design and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
- Perform system analyses and calculations including stress, fatigue, reliability, life expectancy, and tolerance studies.
- Apply knowledge of ride system design requirements for attractions involving guest accelerations, reach envelopes, ingress/egress, weight, and emergency evacuation analysis and implementation on control-system failure in worst-case scenarios.
- Assist with initial start-up and debugging of integrated systems and develop system documentation.
- Work on system integration projects for clients in industries such as entertainment and manufacturing.
- Act as technical lead on projects and guide lower-level engineers, technicians, and contractors.
- Serve as Project Manager on smaller projects ranging from $50k to $250k, including developing implementation plans, assigning work, managing scope, developing schedules, evaluating progress, handling purchasing and subcontractors, and proposing changes to contract scope.
